Most stamps are now issued in press sheets with die cuts and without the diecuts. The USPS thought that they could sell more stamps buy issuing stamps without the die cuts. Scott Catalog decided that they wouldnt give the sheets without the diecuts a catalog number for them. I believe since Scott has done this, the USPS is not selling as many as they hoped. Just my opinion...
These press sheets will cause no end of confusion, I suspect.
Our local stamp club is using scissors to cut out stamps from the sheets for use on our monthly mailings, betting that used imperfs will be an unusual item in the future.
So far the PO hasn't been cooperating..... they missed the mark on our first one, so I'll have to keep the cover just to prove that it is used.
krash - the biggest problem about buying the imperforated sheets is that you can only buy them as a Press Sheet. For the Batman issue, that would cost $88.20 for the whole sheet. Then you have to cut it into individual sheets and further cut them into individual stamps if you want to use them for postage.
Wow! That would be sort of difficult to transport home without a poster tube or something similar! Neat and I wasn't aware of that so thank you for the info! -Jeff
