Good evening all I touched on this yesterday in the "Whats Stampy" thread:

Each entity will have a page for the basic description of the country and a titled blank page. This will allow as many pages as the collector will need to allow for growth.

I was happy to get immediate feedback from khj and mourningdoves . I have incorporated the feedback

Thanks khj , I have added a 1.5 inch (3.6cm) border to the lefy margin. I am also going to suggest that page protectors be used.

I also took your advice and added a darker border around the grid.

Thanks for the idea jimbo, I was thinking of adding Flags but thought about keeping it more simple. I will rethink the though.

alyn, I think it looks pretty nice the way it is. The only suggestion I'd make is, see if you can make LaTeX give you a black weight for the country/stamp-issuing-entity name, not a bold weight, as it looks like you are currently using. It'll add a little more dynamism. Typeface commands were one of the things in LaTeX that made me want to run out into the back yard and eat worms.

As for the flags, it's a good idea in a lot of ways, but:
(a) it would be dependent on the end user having a reasonably good color printer, and
(b) since not all entities ever had flags, the pages wouldn't be uniform.

I have Linux Mint on my weary-boned HP in the basement: a proud and shiny machine when Windows 7 was new. I like Linux Mint because it Just Works, but I'm having trouble getting used to the Cinnamon interface. I'll probably dump it for the Mint KDE version when I get an hour or 2.

Thanks mourningdoves, I will try the change for the issuing-entity name. I had the same concern with the Flags as well... I think I will leave them out to maintain a consistent look across all pages.

I am with you on Linux Mint. I have used Fedora Ubuntu, Lubuntu, Xubuntu and Kubuntu and like Mint the best, I am using it on an old Toshiba Laptop that the other Linux distros just didn't work. I have to install it on my other Laptop but I need to set aside the time to get it done.

It has been a busy week at work and home (had to have laser eye surgery to open some ducts), so I haven't done much until today.

I modified the fonts and added a blackfont weight for the titles as per mourningdoves suggestion.

And I have started with "B" in the issuing entities.

The comment about flags and color printers made me wonder about something: the susceptibility of home-printer colored inks to bleed over time, especially when exposed to humidity. I do not know if it is a legitimate concern or not. Any thoughts?
