This is the start of something...so I thought I would share photos of the accumulation of stamps I have been sorting out. This is some stamps gifted to me combined with some stamps that were put to the back of the cupboards when I stopped collecting over 20 years ago.
The plan is to report in with progress/journey in organising them and getting some of them into an album so they shape from accumulation to collection. No doubt there will be many questions along the way too.
To give you an idea of size the crates measure approximately 10x15x5 inches or 26x38x14 cms. I also have 4 crates of recent Australian stamps to soak. These are not depicted. Apart from Australian stamps there is a lot of Canada, Great Britain, Germany and New Zealand. Most - ie 98% are used so I have decided to only collect used. I have also decided to start my collection at 1900 and for many (not all) countries finish it at the year 2000. Effectively the 20th century.
I am starting with Australia as that is the largest amount. Then I will focus on the countries I have the most of. Canada, Germany, Great Britain and New Zealand are all heavily represented and very interesting countries to collect. But here are also Dutch, Danish and Swiss stamps galore too. I figure I will be kept very busy - I think there are some very enjoyable evenings ahead of me.
