.................spotted one of these Paradise Shelducks with chicks today while walking though the wetlands locally - on the way to the beach.
....and here is a New Zealand Game Bird Habitat $10 stamp. The New Zealand Fish and Game Council commenced issuing the $10 license stamps in 1994. Once purchased, the stamp is affixed to the game bird hunter's license thus validating the license for the current year. They command a fair sum used - circa $40 on a licence.............. I gave some away last year not realising their used value.....oops!
I've currently got 6 spare NEW ZEALAND Game Bird Habitat issue stamps MNH. Cat US$113.30 If anyone is interested I've decided to clear these in one go @ 50% of CV = say US$60 inc International Postage - payment by Paypal friend.
But I must admit that I prefer unsigned ones as it means that they have not been used to kill lovely birds.
With apologies, because I know this is a three year old comment, but I wanted to let you know that not all signed Federal Duck Stamps have been used by hunters. Many thousands are purchased and signed by birders and other users of National Wildlife Refuges in the US, as they also serve as a pass to get into any Refuge for free. You must autograph across the surface of the stamp in order for it to be a valid pass for these uses, as well.
BasSWarwick suggested that I post these here, as I had initially posted them over in the remarque thread.
I am an artist of one Federal duck stamp, which is chosen by an open competition every year (very tough competition might I add). Many collectors will send me their stamps to have a remarque painted on them, which is a tiny original painting, usually in the selvedge when applicable.
