Last week was some of the coldest weather we had in a long time. Five nights in a row we were below freezing at night with a couple of nights at 25°F. A couple of days, the highs were only in the 30's. Remember I live in New Orleans and we normally dont get that kind of weather. Normally we will have a day or two of cold weather then it warms back up.
This week was milder than last, with lows in the 40's and highs in the 50's-60's, although yesterday we were 75°F. This morning when I got up, it was 55°F and now its 48°F. Its suppose to drop all day and be below freezing for the next couple of nights. Another arctic air mass is coming down next week, with more freezing weather.
Some winters we never run the heater (I know most people call it a furnace, but down south, the word furnace is never used). We built this house 19 years ago and this is the most we have ever run the heater. Since my house is all electric, I just cant wait to see what my electric bill will be.
You are having Oregon weather this year. We have had only very light frosts this year and have been mostly in the 40s and sometimes 50s. EDIT: Western Oregon............Eastern Oregon is a whole other story

We have had many lovely days lately here on the Canadian Prairies with the temperature for the most part being above normal for this time of the year. My vehicle is really dirty from water and road grime. Off to the car wash in the next few days before the temperature drops down to -13 degrees celsius for the high.
