The introduction of UN stamps in 1951 also was exciting for us selvage collectors, as it introduced the UN emblem in the selvage. Originally collected with 6 stamps attached, today they are collected with 4 stamps attached. Stamp collectors have called them margin blocks, UN emblem blocks, margin inscription blocks... (I call them the latter). On the first set, the additional words "FIRST U.N. ISSUE 1951" are included. This issue is also interesting for selvage collectors because of the perforation varieties in the selvage (not shown in this thread). In the distant future, I'll start a thread on selvage collecting. Until then, below is an example of a margin inscription block of 4 for #11.
