Wow, there are sure a lot of dragonflied on stamps! I`ve just ordered that set of six (five?) Polish ones, because I`m in the throes of creating a one-page exhibit for our Balt-Ex XXII show in Montreal on December 7-8. It is based on a short poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson which I will print below. Underneath that, at the bottom of the page, I have an extremely abbreviated bit of information on the dragonfly from Wiki (I shortened it.)
"Today I saw the dragonfly Come from the wells where he did lie. An inner impulse rent the veil Of his old husk: from head to tail Came out clear plates of sapphire mail. He dried his wings: like gauze they grew; Thro’ crofts and pastures wet with dew" A living flash of light he flew.

I've always loved dragonflies and damselflies! We have a small bayou running just behind our backyard fence, so there's always a lot of dragonflies hovering/darting around. Love how they like to rest on the tip of our car antenna.
They are a great topical! Thanks for posting the stamp pics!
