Philatelic Internet Resources Suggestion/Discussion Thread

An online catalog that i use regulary is www.colnect.com

Registration is free, and one can use the site without the need to pay for a premium-account.
It is a wiki: the catalog is built up by the users.
It is also an exchange-platform and, recently a marketplace is added.
It is for all collectibles, but the stamp-section is one of the most important.

One on the most special properties of this site is that you can determine the language in which you see the information. More than 50 languages, including Greek, Arab, Russian, Japanese and other with a non-roman alphabet.  This allowed me to swap with people i don't understand otherwise. 
There are still gaps and errors, but the accurancy is reasonable and for some countries excellent.  About 700.000 stamp-items listened. +30.000 stamp-collectors, +300 online each moment.

This is just a general info post, not an admonishment of any members here.

That website has now gained a significant following, and well-deserved. However, the owner has been permanently banned from at least 2 (and probably another 1-2 additional) major stamp forums over the years. I won't go into the reasons, as each stamp forum has it's own set of rules.

I mention this because on at least 2 of those stamp forums, the mere mention of that website will either get you a final warning, get the website name automatically blocked, or even get you instantly banned if you are a relatively new user there. That's how bad the blood is.

So be careful if you mention that website elsewhere.
