Mark the 100th anniversary of the most popular war-time poem. “In Flanders Fields” was first published in December 1915 and was written by Canadian-born Lt. Colonel John McCrae, a brigade-surgeon, during World War I. A tribute to his lost comrade and war heroes worldwide, the booklet features the first 5 hand-scripted lines of the poem. On the stamp is a soldier’s silhouette set against a bright, red poppy and rows of crosses. The poppy became a symbol of the sacrifices made by those who fought in the war. “In Flanders Fields” continues to be recited at Remembrance Day ceremonies around the world. This is a beautiful addition to any Canadiana, floral or historical collection.

One of the biggest sporting events ever to be held in our country, the tournament will see 24 women's teams compete for the crown of world's best. From June 5 to July 6, 2015, matches will be played in six Canadian cities, culminating with the gold medal game at Vancouver's BC Place. The stamp features two of the top stars from Canada's team, striker Christine Sinclair of Burnaby, British Columbia, and defender Kadeisha Buchanan of Mississauga, Ontario. Behind the two Canadians, Japanese goaltender Ayumi Kaihori stretches for a save. Featured in front of the three players is the adidas Official Matchball for this historic tournament.
