Princess parrots on a 2005 Australian stamp. They are named after Princess Alexandra of Denmark, who married the future King Edward VII of the UK when he was Prince of Wales. They live in the interior of Australia, and are nomadic.
Rainbow lorikeets on a third 2005 Australian stamp. They are native to eastern coastal areas of Australia, though some were accidentally released in Western Australia and there is a feral population in New Zealand.
A kakapo or owl parrot on a 1986 New Zealand stamp. This is a nocturnal flightless species. In the days when it was more common, Maoris ate its meat and used its feathers in clothing. Nowadays it is critically endangered: the known population is less than 125.
Czech Republic Parrot sheet. 2004. I also have the full set of maxi-cards using these stamps which I will show once I have time to find the scans. In the meantime have fun exploring this beautiful sheet.
