Completed book #55 YTD page count:18,202 Tayari Jones: An American Marriage
Just spent 8 days on a cruise ship. I couldn't play with stamps in my spare time, so I did the next best thing; I read. This book was provided on ship, and was the subject of the onboard book discussion group. I had to miss the discussion group, though, due to a time conflict with another event I had to attend with my wife.
youpiao, You sure are a fast reader. It normally takes me about a week to read a book as I only read when I am lying in bed trying to go to sleep. Do you download books to a reader (iPad) from Amazon or another source? I find that I have to have the book in hand. Tried reading on my Amazon Fire Pad but it just isn't the same.
@janetc I'm not a particularly fast reader, but I am steady. I'll crank out a hundred pages or so in a sitting. I read from, both, kindle and physical books. Also, with many of the kindle books I get, the audiobook is available for free or a couple bucks, if you buy the kindle version first. I can then continue "reading" during my work commute. That is only 15 minutes each way, but when I arrive home, I'm often prompted to continue reading in bed.

youpiao, Congratulations on completing your goal for 2018. Are you going to do it again this year?
Yes, I am, and I'm moving the goalposts. There were a couple months this summer where I didn't touch a book, so I have that slack to take up. Plus, I was not as diligent in keeping up my reading when I realized I was ahead of my pace. So, this year I'm going to shoot for 1 1/2 books a week.
Oops. I think I need to post a new resolution thread, to make it official and binding.
