Are Airmail adhesives considered stamps?

FairyFoot is better suited than me to reply, since post-crossing is one of her specialties.

Most stamp collectors that I know, don't really like computer generated/vended postage, unless it is personalized postage. Given a choice, I think it is fair to guess that 99% of collectors would prefer pre-printed stamps.

I think most of the forum members think my indicia threads are boring -- even I think they are boring. A commemorative stamp tends to attract more positive attention. Just my opinion.

Ah yes, the sticky printed postage label... Sometimes there's nothing you can do about it! It is OK to send. Some people write on the postcard apologising for having to use a postage label. Even a few penpals use labels at times (including one who is a stamp collector).

Tips to avoid the postage label:

1) Go to the post office without the postcards (or have them in a bag, but not visible to the post office person) and ask for stamps (I presume you can easily find out how much postage should be).

2) Can you order online via SingPost? For one or two stamps, not usually worth it as, from Royal Mail, there is postage and packaging, and we all, at times can be stingy (it did cost me more money in bus fare to get to a lovely little post office to buy stamps, than it did for p&p for a Royal Mail stamp order).

3) Find a nice post office, one that will have the nice stamps, and perhaps save them for you! It took me a while before my local big post office told me about the lovely little post office a few miles from town run by a lovely man who once worked for Stanley Gibbons, and other stampy companies in London - people travelled miles to see him and most of the time, he had time to talk, to tell stories about stamps. He retired and so I have had to go elsewhere for stamps again.

The postcrossing forum (different log in to the main site) does have a section for people in Singapore. forum.postcrossing.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=143 although there isn't much activity there (nor is the section for the UK/Ireland all that busy!!)

Sometimes when I bring my mail to the post office to confirm I'm paying the right rates, I would tell the counter staff I prefer to get stamps instead of having them print the stamp label (with a custom value). Then I would peer as they flip their postage stamp books to see if there are nice stamps to choose from 

As for ordering stamps online, the SingPost shop sells recent stamp issues in sets, so it's not really possible to order multiples of 1 value only. However, there are quite a few post offices located in shopping malls here, so it's convenient to pop by, join the queue and get some stamps.
