No problem in any case. I will check out stamps2go for now and keep you in mind for other countries later.

As an update to the APS discussion earlier, my wife signed me up as a Christmas gift. She also got me a subscription to Stiener album pages.

Received the 10 lbs of kiloware I ordered today. The Asia mix looks particularly good even without having gone through it yet.

Last night I finished sorting out a pound of SE Asia by country. Pretty great group of countries, beyond Japan which had the most representation, I was particularly happy to get lots of several countries I had never found kiloware for, such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, India, Philippines, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, and Malaysia. I see all of those in world mixes sometimes, but always in low quantities and usually only older, extremely common varieties.

I only pulled around 20 stamps from China, and would love to find more. There were only a few from Cambodia, but they were all recent issues. Also had a few each with a mix of older and newer stamps for Vietnam, Burma/Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, North Korea, and Bangladesh. Only a couple from Mongolia, Nepal, and Bhutan. Nothing from Laos or Papua New Guinea.

After sorting, I started soaking the stamps from Japan. I pulled a few hundred from the new kiloware and already had another pound from last year, so this is going to take a while. I used the sink in the kitchen, first time I’ve done that. I only did the first couple hundred last night.

For most of my "no longer needed" kiloware, I pack it all in a bag and take it to a local church. They have some sort of kids program and any stamps are always welcome. If you have any charities near you maybe they collect them also. I think they save them till they get large amounts and ship them off to dealers who in turn repackage them and sell them to collectors. So it would be helpful if you knew which dealers they were sending the stamps to so you wouldn't be re-buying your own stamps. For stamps off paper maybe a stamp club could use them (if you have one near) or stick them on stampbears as a giveaway or trade. Remember, your "not needed" is someone elses "needed".

I “accidentally” bought these four covers. I put a single bid so low I thought there was little chance of winning, but surprise!

So I recently received a junk box of stamps, I commented about it elsewhere, but I am finally getting around to posting some pics from it.

First, these two South Africa mini sheets, the last new items I posted in this thread were some of these on paper.



Next, here are some Colombian reprints from 1992. I can’t help it, I actually like these even though I wanted not to. These were even already in the mounts on pages so that was a nice bonus.




There were a bunch of random page remnants with stamps attached. I had been worried they were glued on, but after soaking, these are the ones that came off ok. I did find some damaged stamps, but most of these turned out to be fine after all.












Next, here are some homemade USA pages with the stamps still attached. I have not checked the identification on any of these yet.










There were stock pages, some of these with really common Great Britain stuff but a few were filled with things I didn’t have.

That’s it for now. A lot of those covers were very interesting. There were a couple albums, a folder of sheets, and a bunch of mint Spain in sheets and blocks. A few other random souvenir sheets as well. I might scan the rest later.

Here are two more interesting finds from my junk box.

Although it's taken me until now in December to get to them, here is another find from the junk box I previously posted about back in August. I mounted these yesterday. There was a whole lot of mint Spain in that box, I'm still sorting it.

So I mentioned that I had bought a worldwide collection from a friend this past weekend in the "what's stampy" thread.

This collection belonged to a long time collector, the father of a friend of mine. He died several years ago and his wife had kept this collection. She passed a few months back, my friend wanted to find someone who would actually enjoy the collection and it wasn't about money, but rather about getting it into the hands of someone he thought would appreciate it.

So far I started pulling out French stamps and mounting into my albums, the quality of the collected stamps is awesome so far. He used the kind of mounts that are really easy to remove without hurting anything or in many cases he had used showguard mounts.

He collected mostly European and Scandinavia countries, and I'm pretty sure he emigrated from Germany sometime before WWII. The early collection is all German based and even his notes are in German.

The first USA stamps are all in the 40's. Same with some Canadian stamps.

Almost all the various country collections are very small, but with at least a few very early stamps in each which I mostly don't already have. The collections are very sparse for the most part, but just really good for what is there.

Here is an amazing amount of showguard mounts that were also in the collection, I was amazed at how much money this was saving me. I only paid $40 for the whole collection, the mounts alone are worth hundreds. These little packs cost around $10.50 each these days. Looks like these were all bought when they were 50 cents.
