Engraved Stamp - Simple trick.

After seeing a post made in another thread, questioning if a stamp is engraved or lithographed, I decided to share a simple trick to tell if a stamp is indeed engraved.

Needed:
1. Stamp 
2. Thin aluminum foil
3. Soft pencil eraser

Place aluminum foil over stamp and lightly rub eraser over the stamp.  If the stamp is engraved, the stamp will leave an impression on the aluminum foil.

Here is a British Guiana, Scott# 253.  




As you can see all of the stamp is shown on the aluminum foil, including the center. Thanks Gordon Lee for reminding me about this simple trick.
