Do You place restrictions on who can view your albums

I haven't placed any restrictions on my Photobucket pictures. Maybe I should. I also use Google Picasa.

i place a restriction to only the images i provide a link too.

my albums cover a lot of area and i do not always want to share the pictures form one thing in my life to another. for example i share my train stuff here once in a while but i try to keep my stamps the focus here..

I only show it here and on my Stamps 'n Things blog.

I use photobucket and with no restrictions. Only other place I post pics besides on here is Facebook, and its for friends only(I think).

I have a question.  Why are you asking?  Is there something about that we should be concerned?

As it is, I just use an all open Photobucket account to store my pictures of stamps.

I thought that was a reason. Be rest assured that I am not too concerned if anybody steals my pictures of stamps out of my photobucket account. I am fairly certain that whatever value that they can get for these pictures will not be worth their effort. Besides, many of my stamp pictures are of stamps where better looking examples can be found elsewhere. And all of my photobucket pictures are backed-up on my own computer.

As for the possible theft of my actual stamp collections (because of my viewable photobucket account) I am not too worried. First, the thief would need to know that the nym used for the account was actually me. (For some strange reason when I acquired the photobucket account it would not let me use my real name and it would not accept my nym used here in the Stamp Bear boards. It, therefore, is almost unrecognizable.) Next, the thief would need to know where I live. If they did, just one look at my deluxe custom-built double-wide would put doubt in their mind that a super valuable stamp collection would be kept inside such an abode. Finally, the really big dog turds that scatter my lawn would be a deterrent.

That, in a nut shell, is my view about an anyone-can-view an online photo site.

Now, about an insurance company paying out only up to $2,500 for a stamp collection claim. Where and how did you get this figure? Is that a standard practice? Is that a figure for a specific item in an insurance policy, or a general figure for a non-specific item in an insurance policy? Do major insurance companies have stamp evaluators?

Just as a point of consideration, insurance companies don't really care about what the actual value of a collections is.

You can insure a $50 collection for $5000 if you want, they base the premium payment amount on the amount you want covered, not what the actual value might be.

The only reason they want you to have at least a semi-accurate value is because of fraud (IE, someone might insure a $50 collection for $5000 then throw it away to make a claim).
