How do you find US stamps (1999 to 2014) for your collection

I think that there will be fewer stamps issued as the years
go by due to less mail being sent, yes.

Also, I have noticed that a preferred U.S. cancel lately
has been about 2" x 4" of dark, wavy lines, which pretty
well renders a stamp not very collectible!

More people - companies especially -- are using
franked mail, WHEN they absolutely HAVE to send it,
like when there are unfaxable enclosures!

I don`t think I have ANY of the Milennium Stamps from
either the U.S. or Canada. I think they were all or
mostly souvenir sheets and were SNAPPED up on
issue back then! I DO have quite a few (most, actually)
of the British Millennium series.

I think the US Sonoran Desert stamps are from one sheet
of a beautiful series of American souvenir sheets (I only
have ONE of them) - I think there are between 7 and 12
S/Ss and they have NATURE in their title if you want
to try and find them. They show various ecosystems in
America from Tundra to southern regions. The souvenir
sheets are about $7.00 each. (Canadian)

The souvenirs are purchased mainly only by collectors or someone who find them beautiful, I guess practically no one will use them on envelopes. You will need to collect them mint.

All those souvenir make me crazy, W.Steiner make a good job but he work more on the quantity than quality, the pages over 20XX contain only the souvenirs and not the individual stamps, so I have to redo or add new pages. The reason is that Scott give a Number to the sheet and a sub number to the individual.

Now I’m doing US and Canada, when finish I will offer them to the one who will like to add individuals stamps.

On a personnel note if at least the souvenirs will all be engraved or photogravure I will have no complain ,

I think the biggest problem with modern US stamps is the soak-ability or the lack of..... There were many collectors that given up collecting US stamps because of this. Although I keep my US collection up to date, it is a big pain in the rump to remove these stamps from paper. We have different threads here that explain the process.

Back in the day, when we could soak stamps with water, it wasnt a biggie to throw all your used stamps in water and soak them. Now, like many other people, I only remove the stamps from paper that I need for my collection. The rest get thrown in a bag and is given away.

My US collection is up to date with minimal empty spots. Now for my Canada and Great Britain collection, thats another story. Both of those collections get real spotty from 2000 on. I have tried many times to find used material on some of the auction sites, but have come up empty handed.

So I guess we need to rely on fellow members/others to keep our collections up to date. Since I dont collect New Zealand, I know you probably wont have much that I could use for my collections. BUT.....

You might consider ending your us collection at 2001, 2005, or 1980. When I did it freed my up lots of time and resources to collect the 19th century, and even expand to other countries. think about it

Hi kacyds  Received mail from you in Thursday morning mail all OK some great stamps on cover I will keep this as is inside 60+ very good US stamps.
