The problem with having an online stamp store and dealing on the side is that business can become all-consuming, and you neglect your personal collection. I took steps to remedy that situation, today. First, I spent all day, at home, sorting through, and inventorying, my Germany, German states, and colonies. Then tonight, I just spent that last couple hours browsing several different dealers, on a shopping spree, filling in a ton of spaces in Bavaria, Marianas (see my stamp-of-the-day post), Caroline Islands, Cameroun, and German East Africa.
Also picked up a few for my topical collections of composers, accordions (that's right, I said accordions
), and engravers. The best part is, the great majority of the stamps I got are used, so I don't have to spend another fortune on Showgard mounts.
I'll share some pictures of my booty (loot, that is), when I get them. But, since it's not a proper stamp forum post without a stamp image, here's a preview:

Caroline Islands, 1901, Scott #11
Located north of New Guinea, the Caroline Islands consist of the Federated States of Micronesia, to the east, and Palau, on the western end.
The first Karolinen stamps appeared in 1899, after Spain sold the islands to Germany, soon after the Spanish-American War. The last 3 issues, Scott #s 21-23 were produced between 1915 and 1919, but were not placed into service, as, by then, Japan had occupied the islands during The Great War, and afterward was awarded custody of the islands by a League of Nations mandate.
