Two major philatelic events were planned for London in May, 1940. The 27th Philatelic Congress of Great Britain was slated for May 3-6, and the Stamp Centenary Exhibition May 6-14. Twelve straight days of stamp shenanigans! These events were scheduled to occur in what proved to be the last days of the 'Sitzkrieg' (phony war), as Germany invaded France and the low countries on May 10, 1940. Does any SB have a cover, or any other proof, that these events were actually held?
