Over the last few months a number of questions have come up regarding the various areas of the market place. This thread will answer just about every question a member may have.
Market Place = an area that participating members may use to initiate sales, purchases, sales or off site sales promotions.
Participation = Posting in area's aside from the market place in an effort to contribute to over all purpose of the forum, which is to share ideas, information, encouragement, and the growth of stamp collecting as a hobby.
To use this Area you must be a participating member with 50 or more posts.
Only Stamps and Stamp related items may be posted in any area of the Market place.
All sales are by members of this forum, as such they are private deals that Stamp Bears has nothing to do with.
BUYER BEWARE.... you are responsible for your trans actions
The member who starts the thread (original poster or OP) sets the terms and conditions of bidding and currency (i.e. - "bidding will start at $1 USD and bids will be in $0.25 USD incriments), shipping and who is responsible clearly in the first post.
An image of the item should be included so members participating know what they are buying/bidding on/swapping for. The OP should disclose any information about the item (new, used, damages etc.)
Auctions and sales must have a clear end date and time (using Board time for the ease of every member to have the same opportunity).
you may post up to 5 items each day....
PM or private bidding is NOT permitted on public auctions, if you desire an item up for bid place your bid (or negotiation) in the thread
if you have the winning bid on an item you must pay your bid (not the next lowest like Ebay etc....)
In the event that a sale ends and the buyer is not able or unwilling to pay the item may go back up for auction starting at the bid before the one that won....
DO NOT POST ANYTHING BUT BIDS IN THE AUCTION OR SALES THREAD THERE ARE OTHER PLACES ON THIS BOARD FOR CHATTER AND QUESTIONS.
If you have questions about that specific item however post that you are PMing a question to the OP and nothing more.
We ask that you please refrain from selling the same item on here that you have listed on other sites. In the event they are claimed in both places the seller will get a poor reputation in one place or another. Items found to be listed on other sites will be removed
Be kind leave feedback in the members feedback thread
We STRONGLY AND HIGHLY recommend transactions be conducted via Paypal to protect both parties..
The OP determines the requirements for the trade - for example if I wanted to trade US for Worldwide I would post something like this
"100 US stamps for 100 Worldwide stamps - all low value random picks , low duplication... anyone interested?"
at this point if someone is interested they may reply and then use the Private Message for exchange of information.....
you may trade 1:1 or however you want or even by catalog value, Whatever you chose just be clear in what you are offering and what you are expecting...
If you want to negotiate the terms do so in the thread for the trade so that others can learn the art of negotiation...
If your offer or counter offer is rejected do not get all personal about it this is a friendly site and trades should be in good spirit but they are still business.
Stamp Bears is NOT responsible to trade success or failure.. We only provide the space for the activity... I will note here however if a person gets a reputation for not being honest or for stealing we will prevent that person from trades, sales and or auctions until its resolved....
We have created this area for members to keep the general boards clear of advertising.
Members should Promo their offsite sales here and ONLY here unless they are a Linking Member, but even then your signature line is more than enough promotion for the rest of the board.

YOU are responsible for your sales and interactions, Stamp Bears will not become involved in these transactions except in the event that we have someone taking advantage of other people (taking money and not shipping, taking shipment and not paying, obvious signs of cheating, bid padding, or other unethical business practices, etc...) these people will be banned and there IP number noted to prevent further incidents...
