In the US, it used to be mint meant mint, post office fresh. Then came mint not hinged, mint no gum, ect - the hobby used to refer to this as unused. Once the gum was disturbed and not post office fresh anymore, it was unused. But influence from Europe and elsewhere has changed the language. thats my take . .

Everyone I've ever talked to in the UK would say that if it has no gum when it was orginally issued with gum then it is used, MNG (mint no gum) has always meant stamps that NEVER had gum.
Mint is (to me) mint, never hinged, gum untouched (abbreviated MNH) If it is hinged, (to me) it is Unused (abbreviated MLH or MH or MHR), I use the M because it's less confusing Mint with no gum is (to me) "unused no gum" (abbreviated UNG, sometimes MNG) Issued with no gum is (to me) "no gum as issued" (abbreviated NGAI)

Greetings Fellow SB Boarders . I take the various abbreviations with a grain of salt. First, I like spicy food. Second, I was always told by the "experts" (not necessarily "stamp dealers") that if a stamp was issued with gum (glue) and it does not have gum (glue) now, then it is considered a used stamp. The reasoning is this: If a stamp is attached to an envelope and mailed, and cancellation misses the stamp, it is a USED stamp. Even though one can say, "well, the stamp was soaked because it was stuck on other mint (unused) stamps and it has never seen postal service, so therefore it is still an unused stamp. That may be true. However, unless one is the soaker, and not one coming across the stamp some other way, there is no proof that the stamp was not one missed by the canceller. Thus, every stamp that has no glue (gum), if it was issued with gum (glue), must be considered used and by default no longer mint. . To prove my point, just try selling a high value mint-looking stamp without gum (glue) on the back to a certified stamp dealer. He/she will not buy it at a percentage of the mint CV. No way. The base they will start dickering with will be the used CV. . A body will only be fooling themselves (or maybe a beginner) into thinking a used stamp is a mint stamp. I actually picked up the acronym from sellers on eBay, which include some very well-known dealers, who use it often to describe stamps thusly issued. It made sense to me, so I have continued using it when appropriate.

MNG to me usually means that the stamp has been 'washed/bleached' to make it look better, or worse just printed up on a home laser printer. I would not touch it.
There are times where a mint stamp should have the gum removed, especially where the type of gum can damage the stamp in certain older issues. For most though any stamp which has the gum removed always sends red flags to me. The big question is why?
It has either been used and not postmarked or had the gum removed to stop the spread of the dreaded toning/foxing and make it look nicer facially.
I am guilty of the latter on this one as I didn't want to throw the stamps out as there is a perforation error.
I have saw MGAI before and finally figured out what the person was talking about. Craig what does MHR mean? I've never saw that before. I 'm guessing Mint Hinged but the "R" has me wondering.

The short answer is that there is a fee just to list an item on eBay, and there's another fee to pay if the item sells. There is no "by the word" fee, like a classified would have (but don't mention that to them, or else we'll see it in the next fee increase!).
The longer answer is that the listing fee depends on a seller's relationship with eBay, and whether or not they have a store. I've just started listing on eBay again recently, without a store, and I can get 50 free listings per month, but that's it. Some sellers get more, and I don't know if even 50 listings/month is available to all sellers. Again, there's still another fee to pay if the item sells (for stamps, usually 10% of the sale price and now, the shipping & handling, too). (Plus, ebay owns PayPal, which is required for small sellers to use, and there's another fee for that.)
