Ok here the problem; I will be 55 this summer and it don’t seem my kids ( 8 and 12 ) will continue my collection. I now have the US and Canada Lighthouse Albums that I was planning to put New Stamps in it and put the used on in Scott International. I also have a Philippines Minkus nearly complete ( aside of few firsts pages ) with new stamps. I’m now dropping my Russia and Czechoslovakia Minkus albums and others in the Scott.
1- I really like the Scott international, the fact that some stamps are missing don’t disturb me, in fact it’s an asset on the wallet. I will prefer single pages, but I learn to deal with it and I use glassines. And if pages give me too much problem I simply cut the section of the hole a place it in a plastic sheet holder. Find missing stamps in lots is a real pleasure that take time and cost so little.
2- US Lighthouse, I don’t know but it’s seem It will cost me between $300k to $500k if not more to complete it, I don’t like half empty pages so this is a real problem.
3- Canada Lighthouse , I think if I don’t have the US and the Scott I can complete it.
So here my tough; I was planning to concentrate on the Scott and put only new stamp when I get them in the lighthouse album. But that slow me down as I’m always attracted to complete pages at great cost. So now I’m thinking to sell those stamps and the albums to finance my Scott…crazy ? what are you toughs on it. It’s like if I have to live to life or fight 2 wars…
I fell I’m more a pages filler than a stamps collector, this is what I don’t care about the missing one in the Scott.
I even purchase the Steiner at the time with the Pagemaker pages so I can mod it as I have Pagemaker, I can also do new one with InDesign, but I have no attraction for those kind of pages. They don’t fell old book like the Scott Pages.
A lot of toughs and confusion …..
