Mailer's Postmark Permits and Non-profit Rate Covers

I noted on this one that the stamp was a plate number single...these are surprisingly hard to find even though I have a bazillion of the stamps off cover.

I have several, but this may be the only one that has an MPP postmark. I do collect used PNC singles. So if I hadn't of started keeping the MPP covers 2 years ago, I probably would have cut this out and put in my used PNC single glassines. I haven't cataloged them in several years, but I'm pretty sure I still haven't gotten past the 200 different used PNC singles mark.

I believe the MPP postmark numbers are awarded according to some postal district groups -- but I don't know how they are defined. I thought they were awarded based on bulk mailing centers, but I'm not sure. I do know it is not a national registry. That is why I was listing them based on zip code first, because I have no way of IDing the postal district.

I do have at least one MPP #1, from zip code 22713. It's not an art deco bird, but it is NPO. I think you said it would be OK. I am limiting my MPP postings to non-profit mailings only to keep things manageable. If you want to include all MPPs (regardless of stamped or not), I probably got an addition 3-4 dozen covers. For the time being, I'm going to limit it to NPO MPP covers.

The mailer is the owner of the MPP. In most cases, these are mass mailers. That's why you will see several of the college covers having the same zip code and MPP#, because they used the same mass mailer. I pointed out that my 2nd University of Denver cover was from a different mass mailer than the first one I posted, and offered some suggestions to why that may have happened.

I am fine with where ever this thread takes us. I am always pleasantly surprised when I find out there is someone else who pays attention to the mundane crap that pretends to be mail these days...
