kacyds, great cover! Keep it in this thread and don't worry about the stamp, I am pretty sure I have that pnc. I have a couple that I will post here soon as well when I get time to spend on stamps this week.
No longer in denial! I collect all of it...the whole world! Just printing and mounting as I go! Call me crazy.
Here is another one like the above with the same address and Permit number. I thought it was odd that they didnt use the reduced rate to mail this and instead, put a forever stamp on this cover.... The last cover was bigger and had 25¢ worth of postage and this one had 49¢.
Zip Code 24506, PMP 003, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Mailed Feb. 24, 2016
Now I see the on the cover above, the PMP is a little different, that one is a "Presorted First Class Auto".
I recently received the following covers in the mail but without Mailer's Permit Postmarks. I am wondering if khj has any information on why one organization would use the postmark but another would not.
-- an envelope with a stamp is more likely to get opened because it doesn't look like junk mail -- an envelope with a cancelled stamp is more likely to get opened because it doesn't look like junk mail trying to pass for real mail -- an envelope with a nice clean private cancel makes it look more "professional" and "personal"
All I know is that the ones with a stamp and a MPP don't get tossed into my recycle bin! I may not read what's inside, but I do open it!!!
