How can I tell if it's Laid or Wove Paper?

We actually have a thread on this somewhere, but it's probably faster to describe it.

Hold the stamp up to a light and look through the stamp from the back-side.

If wove paper, you will see a fine array of "white" dots. The array is usually in a "diamond" pattern.

If laid paper, you will see parallel "white" lines. Depending on which set of white lines you are looking at, the spacing will vary from <1mm to even close to 1cm.
