Admin Bear ,kacyds ,khj , I just posted - or tried to post - a reply on another thread, and it got intercepted by some pop-up from, I think, "nuxius.com" telling me that my Windows 10 is damaged beyond repair and urging me to click on the link to download the fix. It seemed like it was in direct response to hitting "reply", so it might be some invasive JavaScript. I'm gonna run a scan now, but I'm pretty sure it's not internally generated. Worth reporting to ProBoards, I believe.

I checked ProBoards support forum and there's no mention of this.

Did you have some other active tabs open or visited some websites prior to Stamp Bears? Anything that got into the browser will stay active until you re-start your browser.

Sorry, but you have a virus. You can use Malwarebytes to remove the nuxues tracking virus. I often use Malwarebytes to purge computers of viruses/trojans for friends, and it really works quite well. However, I personally don't run it in background.

This is what is called adware - which generally redirects you to a sales pitch
As noted Malwarebytes should remove it and/or perhaps cleaning out your cache
I would suggest you install Adblock in your browser it is a free add-on and will stop this and other ad trackers that plague the internet

The troubled computer is getting a well-earned rest as I'm in Boxborough, Massachusetts for a stamp show. My Surface is wonderful, but if there are any typos, it's because I'm a keyboard snob and have trouble with the flat Surface "type cover".

Malwarebytes didn't find anything. I read up on nuxues after I signed off and it may have tried and failed to penetrate, hoping that I'd be protective of my beloved Windows 10, khj

I also run Trend Micro, which seems to be the most effective - or least ineffective - "anti-virus" of the lot. It does turn up a false positive, or an unreplicatable positive, now and then. So I'll let it go for now. The Web sites I frequent are about as staid as can be: the New York Times, the Weather Channel, and the like. I'm kind of boring that way.

I can also turn Adblock back on and put up with Proboards pleading with me to turn it off. That might give me a little sadistic happiness
