While growing up on the east coast of Canada, I was fortunate to be able to view trains many times a week. I lived a couple of blocks away from the Canadian National Railway Roundhouse situated in Fairview, Halifax, N.S. My pastimes included watching trains and ships in Halifax. Given this childhood interest, it was logical for me to collect stamps of trains and to collect Railway Post Office (R.P.O.) cancellations.
I was going through my Canadian Small Queens and noticed that I had about a dozen Railway Post Office cancellations. I don't know much about these postmarks but found a couple of websites that provide some helpful info:
I have recently obtained a few more Canadian Railway Post Office (R.P.O.) cancellations and will add them to this thread. Canada Scott# 90 MONTreal & TORonto G (possibly G.T.R.) R.P.O. cancel dated Aug. 9, 1904
darkormex, I'm not sure but I expect that some are quite rare and would warrant a premium. I intend to buy a catalogue of Canadian Railway Cancellations in a month or two (Christmas present). The catalogue costs $38.95 so I'll get the answer to your question at that time. Mike
