I am sure most of us that receive Linn's Stamp News, has seen this advertisement in the back of the magazine...
I have contemplated over the years, to buying from them and decided to take the plunge at the beginning of the pandemic.
So I knew what I wanted, but not how much I wanted to spend. Since I collect mainly early worldwide stamps, I wanted the Foreign, Classic Period Only. Also, I figured I didnt wanted to get the smallest package, $49, so I went for the $199 package.
After ordering, I received a package 10 days later. I was disappointed at first, because I was expecting a box full of stamps. Hey, I was paying $199. But instead, I received an overstuff Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope (9½"x12½").
Inside was stamps on album pages and stamps in glassines by countries. So this is what I received and the 2014 Scott Catalog CV....
On album pages...
Thailand $79.50
Somaliland Proc. $3.10
Sierra Leone $12.90
Queensland $19.75
Ponta Delgada $2
Russia $44.65
Salvador $428.30
Samoa $50
Vatican City $2.75
Upper Volta $10.85
Sweden $140.70
Panama $11.75
Orange River Colony $4.60
Japan $187.50
Stamps in Glassines...
Canada $243
New Guinea $6.50
Nyasaland Proc. $8.25
Nossi-Be $1.60
Norway $48.70
Mozambique $47.50
Nyassa $24.25
Total CV $1,378.15
So after I went through all the stamps and totaled them up, I wasnt as upset. I paid $199 to get almost $1,400 in stamps or a little less than 15% CV.
Has anyone else purchased from Stamps International???
