On the morning of December 7, 1941, the Imperial Japanese Fleet launched 353 aircraft from six aircraft carriers to attack the American naval base at Pearl Harbor and various other military installations on Oahu. The attack began at 7:48 AM Hawaii time and resulted in the deaths of 1,177 American servicemen. As of 2020, there were only two survivors of the attack still alive, Lou Conter and Ken Potts.
