Recovering threads & posts with no member ID

Right now I'm focusing on the philatelic links sub-board. But anyone who PMs me regarding a thread that has missing pictures, I'll put that thread higher up priority. The way I see it, I want to work on threads which members are visiting.

For example, right now I'm working on Ships on stamps and have corrected all the dead image links on the first 10 pages (another 26 to go). For simple image link corrections, the "likes", memberID, timestamp... will remain the same and you probably won't notice anything other than the pic has re-appeared. Some pics are irrecoverable (member deleted/moved the image off the image host); those posts will be completely removed.

For useful reply posts or picture posts made by "Deleted", "Banned"..., I will endeavor to quote when restoring the post. I will not restore the original poster userID, and I cannot restore back to the original location in the thread. Therefore, the restored post for these will appear at the end of the thread.

For simple reference posts made by "Deleted", "Banned"..., such as the philatelic links threads, I will not quote. I'm simply copying/updating/correcting the old post/thread into a brand now post/thread. It will appear that I was the original source. Too bad. Here is a recent example of such a thread, where I have also removed/corrected dead links: European Philately. I think there were originally 2 likes, both of which are now gone. The 3 likes you now see are since 1/19/2021. The original thread was created in 2015.

An update, I have gotten to page 20 of Ships on stamps. So far, it looks like ~75% of the broken links could be fixed or posts recovered. I had to remove about a dozen posts because the pictures were deleted/moved on the member's image host, or the member deleted their image hosting account.

Remember, recovered posts are quoted and appended at the end of the thread (they actually weren't my posts originally). Fixed pic links remain in their original locations in the thread.

After finishing Ships on stamps, I will work on Aircraft Stamps Around the World. That one is 82 pages and may take awhile.

Meanwhile, you can either PM me or post here any requests to work on specific threads. We want to be able to prioritize threads that have attracted member interest. Thank you!
