It helps if you look at it all the way we used to do Reverend Ike - as the purest comedy. He had a radio ministry that sold things (for a 'donation') such as bags of 'Run, Devil, Run Salt' (when you feel the Devil creeping up behind you, you're supposed to throw a pinch over your shoulder and yell "Run, Devil, run!") and 'Lucky Prayer Candles' (guaranteed to get God to listen to you for ten minutes each). As comedy, it was incomparable, he sounded so earnest. But the sad part was, at the same time, you could just picture all the little old ladies writing out their donation checks to the First International Church of Jesus H. Christ, Inc., c/o Reverend Ike.
So, with all the media saturated with smoke and mirrors propaganda, it seems to me the only sane thing to do is sit back, watch, and laugh. And throw popcorn

Apparently, the thread I linked above was moved and not viewable for some time. So many members of past 5+ years or so were not aware. The thread has been restored. I am moving all the posts in this thread regarding the missing political post guidelines into a separate thread. Thanks to stampie78, zepherusbane, and guyana1230, for helping me troubleshoot the missing political discussion guidelines thread.

Well, it did serve to bring to my attention that the announcement thread regarding this issue was missing. As staff, all threads/posts always appears to us, even if something gets put in a restricted area of the forum. So we had no idea the guidelines were not viewable by members. We will work on correcting that snafu tomorrow.
