Can Someone Explain This USPS Baloney

It was Media Mail. But my bigger question is about "No Mail Receptacle." This is the correct current address. Why wasn't the customer just pink-slipped?

No, she received no notice of the package.
This USPS attitude reminds me so much of the spiteful govt bureaucracy I witnessed when visiting my family in Poland in 1983.
My cousin was on a waiting list to purchase new tires for his car. It was something like a 2 year wait. But it was not simply a sign-up-once-and-wait-for-your-name-to-come-up kind of a deal.

Every. Single. Day. He had to check in at an office and confirm he still wanted tires. If he were to miss one day, his name would be struck from the list, and would have to sign up all over again.

I had another bizarre incident with the USPS a few years ago. I sold a comic off HipComic and mailed it out using the PayPal shipping label, and left it in my home mailbox for pickup (it just barely fit inside). About a week later, it was returned to me. Actually, “returned” is the wrong word. It was “delivered” to me, as if it had been addressed to me. I checked the tracking number and it showed delivery - to me - was completed.

I went to the PO and asked them what in the wide wide world of sports was going on, and the postal clerk looked at it, shrugged his shoulders, and said, I don’t know why that happened. He took it, tossed it back into the outgoing mail cart, and it got delivered normally.

The worst thing was that the bass turd who bought the comic didn’t buy my explanation of why his comic was going to be late. He had also checked the tracking and figured I had scammed him, and left me negative feedback (which Hip removed, at my request, when I explained the situation).
