Please save the stamps from the trash pile.

I have been going though some banker boxes that my friend gave me a few years ago. They belonged to her Father and Grandfather who collected stamps. My friend told me her husband took one look at the contest and put them in the trash pile. Lucky my friend asked what was in the boxes....." torn-up/ dirty papers with what looks food stamps"  My friend was curious and looked in the boxes after her husband went inside the house. She called me and asked if I needed a sewing machine and was I interested in looking at some boxes of misc stuff. I am grateful that my friend saved the boxes for me. I will take a few pictures to share.

I thought a good new thread would be pictures and stories of our members saving stamps from torn up pages/stockbooks/ and old albums that have seen better days. I have a old Modern Album (1916) that is falling apart. Yes it is overloaded with old stamps. Some are mint but stuck to the page. I am thinking of saving the cover and index but removing the stamps.
